Sanaz Matin Koosha

Sanaz is a PhD candidate in International Management and Organizations from Gustavson School of Business, University of Victoria, Canada.  Her research is situated in Organizational Behaviour. Specifically, she is interested in the topics of individual sustainability and strategies to help employees maintain and rebuild their work meaningfulness. She is also a part of a major three-phased action research project on employees' engagement and retention, which tries to enhance employees' work meaningfulness by improving employees' job design, organizational and managerial support, and individual capabilities.

Prior to her PhD program, Sanaz spent several years working as a project coordinator in Iran's Oil & Gas and Construction industries. As a female in male-dominated industries, Sanaz navigated several hurdles and demonstrated her capabilities in coordination and management. Her experiences have become her inspiration for her dissertation. Through her research, Sanaz hopes to help employees experience a meaningful work life.

Sanaz's teaching interests are in Organizational Behavior and Leadership. She has guest lectured on the socio-cultural environment of business and orientated dual degree students at the University of Victoria. She is passionate about teaching and eager to take a deep dive into this career.
